Are you looking for a different kind of sport to change up your routine? Maybe something new that doesn’t require any prior experience? An activity you can gradually discover, with the chance to make new friends along the way…

Have you ever heard of touch rugby?

Our local touch rugby team, “Scambio di Lingue,” is organizing an open training session exclusively for ESN students on Saturday, October 25th, and we’d love for you to join us!

Never heard of touch rugby? No worries, no prior experience or knowledge is needed!

Are you worried that rugby is a violent sport? While traditional rugby can be rough, TOUCH RUGBY is a safe, non-contact version: tackles are replaced with a gentle touch anywhere on the body, making it a fun and inclusive sport that men and women of all ages can enjoy together.

Our hosts from “Scambio di Lingue” (which literally means “Language Exchange”) are a diverse group of Italians and international students and workers living in Padua. They compete in the Italian National Touch Rugby Championship and organize this free annual event for ESN students to introduce this fantastic sport to Padua’s newest arrivals.

After the event, there will be the so-called “third half”: a post-match social event with drinks and snacks for those who want to stay and chat. A contribution of €5 (cash) will be required to participate.

If you enjoy the sport and would like to continue playing, you’ll also receive information about how to join “Scambio di Lingue” and attend their weekly training sessions during the 2025/26 season.

WHEN?
Saturday, October 25th. Training starts at 14:30 and runs until 17:00; the “third half” will begin at 17:30, and you can stay as long as you like!

WHAT TO BRING?
Wear regular sports clothing, including trainers. If you have football boots with studs, feel free to bring them, but they’re not mandatory.
